Welcome to Worcester Lionheads, we are friendly and experienced hobbyist breeders of purebred Lionhead rabbits in Worcester, England. Our rabbits are our much loved family pets, we only have a few to ensure they all get the daily attention and exercise they require. We breed only to improve our lines, and never for profit. We select our pairings carefully for type and colour, whilst maintaining health and temperament. Our females have a maximum of two litters a year as their health and happiness is our main priority. All bunnies are at least the BRC recommended age of 10 weeks old before they are rehomed.
Our rabbits are all kept in large spacious hutches and thoroughly cleaned out on a regular basis. We feed our rabbits on high quality veterinary recommended diets, encouraging the natural foraging behaviours that a rabbit would express in the wild. They all have several toys to keep them amused, and each undergo daily health checks to ensure they are in tip-top condition. Veterinary care is always provided immediately, although thankfully it is very rarely required.
We do not usually sell our rabbits to breeders, unless they can demonstrate their animals are properly cared for and never overbred from. Rabbits are the most neglected pets in the UK, and there are many irresponsible breeders around adding to the problem. A good breeder will keep only a few of breeds, and never cross-breed their rabbits. Please check out the breed standards and Google what a true Lionhead should look like before committing to buy. Be wary of anyone advertising "Mini" or "Dwarf" Lionheads as these do not exist, and are likely to be unhealthy runts. Also be sceptical of "rare" colours, they usually turn out to be fairly common! Please ensure you only buy from a reputable breeder, or adopt a rabbit from your local rescue shelter!
All our bunnies come with a supply of changeover nuggets, an electronic pedigree certificate and lifelong aftercare advice.
